Dating Dish Weekly Webinar: Who Pays

Each Wednesday at 9pm EST, we gather on a live webinar to discuss a specific dating topic, such as the 5 love languages, who pays on dates, attachment styles, looking for “The One”, and when to give second chances.

The calls start with a short presentation, followed by open conversation on the topic, or on any other dating question you may have!

Can’t make the calls live? Each call is recorded and available for playback.

Topic 5/15: Who Pays

Nothing can tank a first date faster than awkwardness around who’s paying (aside from maybe talking about your x, or wacky religious beliefs). So in the age of gender equality, how do we figure out who pays for a date?

Some believe it should always be the guy, while others insist on splitting the bill (aka going dutch). Or should the person who initiated the date pay?

What does this relatively small act actually represent in our relationship, and how can we better navigate a potentially awkward conversation?

Reviews for The Dating Dish

Alex did a great job of moderating the conversation to keep it on track and on topic, while ensuring that everyone was able to contribute with their point of view or questions. The group was pretty evenly distributed between men and women, which is always a plus at these types of events. Perhaps because it was a small group, it had a very “safe space” feel, which encouraged honest and authentic talk.

Alex was a great host and facilitator. I loved our genuine conversation and felt heard and supported!
What a great concept. Enjoyed talking about issues affecting other singles. Great time!
I was really pleased with how much (and how well) people participated, especially since it was (unusually) a mostly male group. I liked the fact that it was a very small group — it seemed to encourage honest, authentic participation. The subject matter (5 Love Languages) was very interesting and especially relevant to a group of singles interested in being in relationships.
